Although I must confess, I use the MD on the 40D as it handles it better 
than the other camera's I have but I only burst a few rounds. You never
know when you gonna get bounced by some Huns and will need a few extra 
rounds.
I once watched a photographer at Kansai shoot continuosly fromteh moment an 
aircraft started to roll till it was a small dot in the sky. Apart from them 
all being heat haze
affected, imagine going through them all one by one, going, D'oh, blurry
